The photo was taken while I stood on the bridge that crosses the Elbe River.

Church above is in old town Dresden. It looks old. No. Dresden was leveled during World War II. The buildings in old town Dresden were resurrected from the ruble, to look like the old.

The photo was taken from the bank on the north side of the Elbe.

It was on north bank of the Elbe River where the U.S. forces met the Russian forces and shook hands, having conquered Dresden.

Photos below: Views from the Elbe River.
The following photos were taken from a boat in the Elbe River. The river cruise left from Dresden and traveled southeast on the river for about two hours before turning back.

Photo below: Inside the Dresden Frauenkirche, or "Church of Our Lady."

This is a Lutheran Church. It is another church that was destroyed during World War II and rebuilt. It was rebuilt with some bricks from the original building. The original plans from the 1720s were used as it was reconstructed. Reconstruction began in 1993, and reconstruction was completed in 2005.

Some called the church "the Women's Church."
